Abstract

Approaching the collection of works formed by Mrs. Sara Braun, towards the end of the 19th century in the Colonia de Magallanes, allows us to discover the freedom and authenticity with which her manager assigned the function to the works to fulfill in relation to her life. staff. Likewise, it is an invitation to explore the relationship between these works and a territory in the process of colonization in a nation that had not yet completed a century of independent existence, and to confront the singularity of this collection against the prevailing trend regarding the collections formed in the centers of power of republican Chile in the second half of the 19th century.
