DOS Women and Modernity: Projective Rescue of Architects in Recife, in the 1950s

Abstract

The text aims to rescue some projects produced by architects in Recife during the consolidation of modernity in the 1950s. We are aware of the social issues that involve such discussion, due to the professional limitations that existed in those years for more effective participation in the environment. It is proposed to socialize the contribution of professionals and experiences of identity silenced by the historiography of Brazilian architectural modernity. However, the focus here will be architectural, design, but emphasizing that such social issues have already been the subject of studies by researchers from Recife. To produce the text, the primary sources used were the existing documentation in the collection of the Center for Arts and Communication (CAC), of the current Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE).
