Objective. To analyze different perceptions of household access of two brothers with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). Method. Using qualitative case study. It was made a home visit to home Brothers to fill a simple questionnaire prepared by the author addressed research, development of a design theme and an assessment of the residence with the norms of ABNT (Brazilian Technical Standards Association). Results. The brothers live in an apartment, in which the answers given by them differ in relation to the perception that everyone has on their environment. This assertion is best evidenced when asked about the likely positives and negatives points of the house for accessibility and dissatisfactions with the limited spaces of the doorways, preventing its translation and difficult locomotion in some rooms. However, by design, it was possible to verify the reality of adaptation to extreme environment in which they live. Conclusion. It can be concluded that through analysis of the instruments applied brothers though they have perceptions different relative accessibility of their environment, are fully engaged in the architectural reality that your home presents today.
