Abstract

In 1892, Aby Warburg revealed in the thesis The Birth of Venus and Primavera of Sandro Botticelli the “apparition” of foreign elements to the aesthetic conception in italian’s Quattrocento. Beyond a style controversy, this discovery would evidence a semiological position of art in the intermediary territory between “knowing” and “not knowing”, disrupting any possibility of “order of time”. From the stars of Van Gogh inThe starry night, this article seeks to establish the extent of the influence of what was “irremediably requested” according the ideia of “unforgettable” in Giorgio Agamben.
