Abstract

Objective. To describe the development of the hearing temporal processing of children presented with hearing processing disorders (central) and users of the Hearing Disorders Rehabilitation Auxiliary Software (SARDA). Method. The sample comprised 18 children, following an application protocol of five strategies, for 50 minutes, three times a week, for an average of four weeks. The tests of frequency patterns, duration, and silence intervals detection, prior to and after the use of the software, were utilized in order to verify the modification of the hearing temporal processing abilities. Student´s t test for paired data was used in the data analysis. Results. The tests for frequency patterns and duration showed no statistically significant changes. On the silence intervals detection test showed a mean of 23.96 ms of interval decrease (p<0.05). Conclusion. In the sample studied, the SARDA contributed to the improvement of the temporal resolution ability.>
