Wikipedia and hearing health promotion: contextualization of an experience

Objective. To analyze an action to promote hearing health through Wikipedia. Method. This is a descriptive-analytical, cross-sectional, intervention-type research with a quantitative approach that used the single case study strategy. Wikipedia's own statistical tools were used to analyze the impact of the edits promoted, in relation to the translation, editing and creation of a new entry. Results. This process resulted in the editing of 10 entries, representing around 20 thousand words added and more than 17 thousand views of the content, resulting in a significant increase in access. Conclusions. The results obtained with the improvement, translation and creation of hearing health content on Wikipedia demonstrated the potential of this platform in contributing to significant changes in health promotion.
