Abstract

The dialogue between school feeding and family farming has become an important topic of discussion at society. This study analyzed the purchase of foodstuffs from family farming by Piauí Federal Institute (IFPI) -Campo Maior Campus. The research has a descriptive and exploratory character, whose procedures were supported by the analysis of public notice from the time frame from 2022 to 2023. The results found showed that the most requested and purchased foods are in natura, of vegetable origin, such as fruits, vegetables and greens. Therefore, strengthening family farming and valuing local products are important to promote food and nutritional security for students.

    Graduated from the Full Degree in Geography, offered by the State University of Piauí (UESPI). Specialist in Higher Education Teaching from the Faculty of Applied Sciences Piauiense (FACAPI). Student of the Environmental Education research group in Piauí, at the State University of Piauí. I am currently a master's student in the Postgraduate Program in Development and Environment (PRODEMA), at the Federal University of Piauí (UFPI).
