Abstract

This paper reports on the process of building, developing and unfolding an extension project to raise awareness and environmental education in urban green areas. This resulted in an event called Ambiente-se nos Bosques (Environment in the Woods) with workshops, trails and various other activities that contribute to the esteem of conscious and critical citizens, strengthening citizen practices and sharing values for the formation of a more sustainable community. The awakening of educational use in spaces like these was a milestone that, through Ambiente-se nos Bosques, inspired people to multiply their experiences in green areas and stimulated multiple uses of these spaces, spreading the idea of events like this.
