The use of games about the cerrado in the initial years of Elementary Education

Abstract

Understanding the environment in which we live and the biome we are involved in is of utmost importance, as through this knowledge, we can better take care of the environment in which we are immersed. Recognizing the need for educators and students to expand this knowledge, there was a stimulus for research, leading them to better understand the Cerrado biome and to know how to conserve and preserve the natural resources it possesses. The Cerrado biome presents significant biodiversity with many endemic species and is one of the main biomes, included in the list of 25 hotspots with critical areas for conservation worldwide. It is common for schools to focus only on the study of contents that are also of great relevance but neglect the study of the biome of the region where the school is located. In many instances, this study is even overlooked, with schools concentrating on biomes from other, sometimes distant, regions. The study of the local region is insufficient. Therefore, it becomes essential to study methods to incite the exploration of this content, opening new perspectives and curiosities in observing our surroundings. Thus, this article justifies itself by investigating didactic methods already used, reviewing their effects on education, reaching both the teaching and student bodies, addressing this knowledge gap. This research aims to analyze and review pedagogical practices regarding the study of the Cerrado biome. When well-designed educational resources are used, the development of the content becomes more enjoyable, leading students to a greater interest in what is being taught. It's like poetry, taking them into the imaginary universe, anchoring the content taught in a more enjoyable way that facilitates the teaching and learning of this relevant theme.
