Environmental perception of engineering graduates on the relevance of Environmental Education

Abstract

Environmental Education is an effective tool when it comes to raising awareness and / or educating a society about environmental issues, regardless of the individual's level of education or age. This work had as main objective to investigate the perception of engineering graduates of a private university located in the city of São Luís, about the importance of the Environmental Education theme. The methodology used in the development of this article can be summarized in three main stages: Bibliographic Research, Application of Questionnaires, Data Collection and Qualitative Quantitative Analysis. In general, it was possible to verify the strong predominance of EA in basic education and in higher education of the interviewees, mainly in basic subjects involving science, biology and geography, thus becoming an introductory basis in the professional life of an engineer.
