Environmental Education, citizenship and sustainability: educational theory and practice in the Accounting Sciences Course

Abstract

Given the relevance of the environmental thematic, this study analyzed the Pedagogical Project of the Course (PPC) in order to verify whether it includes Environmental Education (EE) and Sustainability in an interdisciplinary way, investigating whether the teachers of the course involved, have basic knowledge about the two themes. This research has a qualitative and quantitative approach, being exploratory, bibliographic, descriptive, documentary and field research. When analyzing the PPC of the course focus of the research it was found in its justification, that the formation of the graduate should be based on a critical reflection, ethics, social responsibility and environmental sustainability, however, according to the menus and program content of this, it was not found, clearly, the EE and Sustainability addressed in an interdisciplinary way.
