Environmental Education: Between the poetics of popular knowledge and the emergence of scientific knowledge

Abstract

At the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT), Professor Michéle Sato leads the Environmental Education Research Group (Gepea-UFMT), through which she has guided the theme in the larger field of Education and trained researchers at undergraduate, master and doctorate degree. The researcher comments on the emergence and consolidation of Environmental Education as an area of ​​knowledge, its institutionalization in the field of Education, the nuances of interdisciplinarity and the theoretical and methodological challenges to be faced in teaching and research practices.
