Resumo

William Beckford é tradicionalmente associado a seus livros as sim como à sua personalidade exuberante. A proposta deste ensaio é discutir alguns cuidados necessários para lidarmos com seus escritos, em particular aqueles relacionados à cultura portuguesa no final do século XVIII.
