Resumo

O turismo de observação de aves, aviturismo, é um segmento em ascensão, atraindo pessoas interessados em diversas espécies, incluindo as raras, endêmicas e ameaçadas. Este nicho atrai uma variedade de clientes em termos de idade, sexo e renda, e tem alcance global, influenciando decisões de viagem em diferentes países e continentes. No Brasil, os avituristas são mais jovens em comparação com estrangeiros, ambos com níveis educacionais e socioeconômicos mais altos. Os guias desempenham um papel relevante, conectando observadores com a natureza e aves; é esperado que tenham habilidades de identificação de espécies e compartilhem informação. Embora haja diferenças nas preferências e expectativas dos clientes em relação aos guias, ambos concordam que um guia qualificado melhora significativamente a experiência. A motivação para o turismo de observação de aves varia, desde interesse nas aves até contribuir para a conservação. Tanto avituristas brasileiros quanto estrangeiros valorizam diversidade de espécies, serviços de guia e conservação da biodiversidade. Entender essas nuances é crucial para desenvolver roteiros turísticos eficazes e atender às necessidades dos clientes, além de envolver comunidades locais garantindo-lhe sustentabilidade e o compartilhamento dos benefícios econômicos.
