Abstract

This article provides a bibliographic review of methodologies for detecting microplastics in water, with a focus on sensor-based approaches. The research encompassed scientific articles published between 2014 and 2024, gathered from various academic databases. Studies in both English and Portuguese were selected, describing detection procedures, specifically targeting microplastics, and undergoing peer review. The study identified and analyzed methodologies best suited for this purpose, offering a comprehensive insight into the approaches used for detecting microplastics in water. This contribution provides valuable insights for understanding and mitigating this environmental issue.
