Abstract

Faced with the problem of the scarcity of virgin resources and the problem of the exponential growth of excess waste, the transition from the linear economy to the circular economy appears to be the solution that is increasingly being advocated to try to alleviate these problems. The way in which each country and company leader deals with this reality differs greatly. In particular, the aim is to find out how Portuguese SMEs position themselves in the face of the CE. Based on Grounded Theory, we opted to use semi-structured interviews. The success of these interviews depended on the script used, and the process followed to carry them out is presented, which involved 4 companies selected for convenience.

É Professor Associado na Universidade de Aveiro, integrando a direção do Programa Doutoral em Engenharia e Gestão Industrial. É membro efetivo da Unidade de Investigação em Governação, Competitividade e Políticas Públicas (GOVCOPP), investigando nas áreas de Gestão da Cadeia de Abastecimento, Sustentabilidade Ambiental & Social e Mobilidade Urbana.

    Licenciada em Engenharia e Gestão Industrial pela Universidade de Aveiro e em Medicina Tradicional Chinesa pela Universidade de Medicina Chinesa, mestre em Engenharia Informática pela Universidade de Coimbra e doutorada em Gestão Industrial pela Universidade de Aveiro. É Professora Auxiliar na Universidade de Aveiro, integrando a direção do Mestrado em Engenharia e Gestão Industrial. É membro efetivo da Unidade de Investigação em Governança, Competitividade e Políticas Públicas (GOVCOPP), investigando nas áreas de Modelação & Simulação, Engenharia de Sistemas e Indicadores de Desempenho Dinâmicos.
