Perception and Environmental Education of the Boca da Mata District Park (DF, Brazil))

Abstract

The focus area of this research is the Boca da Mata District Park, located in the Federal District (Brazil), created to conserve the springs of the Taguatinga stream and the murundus fields. Thirty-five students took part in the research, with the aim of assessing the environmental perception of elementary school and third year secondary school students, before and after environmental education activities. The data was submitted to the IRAMUTEQ software and expressed using similarity and word cloud flowcharts. It was concluded that the environmental education activities were important in changing the initial environmental perception in relation to the final one. It was also observed that it is valid to use more than one environmental education strategy with the students.
