Abstract

Voluntereed Geographic Information (VGI) of the COVID-19 outbreak in Fortaleza, Brazil, was obtained through an internet-based survey with non-probabilistic snowball procedures, with the participation of 12,000 respondents, between April 8 and 10, 2020, and spatially covered 99.17% of the district. Analysis using VGI data identified 181 confirmed cases of the disease, predominantly in neighborhoods with high socio economic status, as well as indicating 795 suspected cases distributed in 99% of the area. The results aim to contribute to the geospatial understanding about the pathology in the country, whose first case was registered on February, 2020, in São Paulo and, until April 14, had 25,684 confirmed cases and 1,552 deaths.
