Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the tourist attractions of the Anavilhanas National Park (AM, Brazil) through a matrix, hierarchizing its attractions in relation to: infrastructure, state of conservation, access, degree of use, local and community support, to create a ranking of the attractions. This case study is based on the methodology proposed by the Ministry of Tourism (MTur, 2007) for the hierarchization of tourist attractions, adapted to natural attractions, as well as bibliographical, documentary and field research, and a workshop for participatory planning with the managers and operators that work in the region of the Park. From the hierarchy analysis, one can construct a ranking of the attractions of the Anavilhanas National Park, in numerical order according to the score received in the assessment, whose subsidies will aid in the management of public use and in the ecotourism planning of the Park. From the definition of the ranking, it is noticed that there are priority attractions such as the walking trails, the aquatic trails and the River Dolphins Floating, for the implementation and structuring of actions that aim at mprovements for the ecotourism activity.

  • Mayara de Araujo Silva, National Research Institute of the Amazon

    MSc in Management of Protected Areas in the Amazon by INPA - National Institute of Amazonian Research. She graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of the State of Amazonas - UEA. He holds a post-graduate degree in Natural Resources Management and Environment from UniNorte Laureate. She works in the Education and Quality Secretariat of the State of Amazonas - SEDUC-AM as teacher of Sciences in the municipality of Novo Airão-AM. She was a FAPEAM researcher and Coordinator of the PCE Project - Science in School Project (a partnership between FAPEAM and SEDUC-AM), with research in the area of: Environmental Education in Protected Areas; conservation of cetaceans; on organic fertilizer production and composting; enzymatic production of Amazonian fungi, as well as, research on extracts of plants with fungicidal potential. With experience in the area of ​​Biological Sciences, with emphasis on Natural Resource Management, with affinity for research in the area of ​​biodiversity conservation and resource management techniques.

  • Susy Rodrigues Simonetti, University of the State of Amazonas

    Bachelor in Tourism by the Manauara Institute of Higher Education (Faculdades Objetivo, 2000), master's degree (2004) and doctorate (2015) in Environmental Sciences and Sustainability in the Amazon by the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM). Member of the Community-Based Tourism Forum of Rio Negro (AM) and the Community of Practice of Visitation in Protected Areas (Brazil-USA). Researcher at the Laboratory of Studies in Tourism and Sustainability - LETS (UnB); the Inter-disciplinary Group of Socio-Economic Studies and Development of Social Technologies in the Amazon - Inter-Action and the State Observatory of Creative Economy of Amazonas, both of Ufam; and the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies in Amazonian Culture - NEICAM (UEA). Adjunct Professor of the Bachelor's Degree in Tourism and the Interdisciplinary Master's Degree in Human Sciences - PPGICH, both from the State University of Amazonas - UEA and the Professional Masters in Management of Protected Areas - MPGAP / INPA. He has experience in research with emphasis on Tourism, working mainly in the following subjects: ecotourism, public use, protected areas, community based tourism, social representations and sustainability.
