Abstract

Isla Canela is located in the municipality of Palmas (TO, Brazil). Fruit of the formation of the lake of the Luiz Eduardo Magalhães hydroelectric power plant. The island has one of the most beautiful fluvial beaches in the municipality of Palmas. It is worth noting that it was artificially constructed. Cinnamon Island was the object of study and reference for the analysis of this research work. Thus the present work aims to outline the socioeconomic profile of visitors who attended Isla Canela during the months of January and February of the year 2019. The information was obtained through which questionnaires together to the regulators. It will also analyze what should be characterized as ecotourism and the characteristics of the same present in Canela Island, and one of them is if the site is appropriate for this form of tourism and if the activities present in this territory help to identify whether it is typical of this economic activity.
