Analysis of the Parceir@s Parque Nacionais App in the São Joaquim National Park – Santa Catarina – Brazil

Abstract

We evaluated the use of an App (Parceir@s Parques Nacionais) for mobile devices by users of the São Joaquim National Park, Santa Catarina, Brazil, based on the following questions: How do these users can contribute data to management? How receptive are they to the App? We make it available on the Google Play Store, promoting it in person and on different social media; subsequently, we monitor and systematize the data received. Between November/22 and July/23, it was found that 50 users completed the registration, with a total of 25 new registrations in the App. From this study, it is inferred that the strategy of using an App to receive contributions from users about parks is productive but requires continued public awareness and changes in procedure.
