Abstract

The general objective of this article focuses on addressing, from a holistic approach, the ethical implications related to the use of Artificial Intelligence, hereinafter AI, in the generation of academic content. Three key elements are addressed in this article: a state of the art on the AIs that are most in demand in the current academic field; the ethical implications linked to plagiarism, originality and fraud, and finally, the characterization of the monitoring tools for academic content generated by AI. The research is framed within a qualitative approach, whose source of information collection is documentary and from the level or degree of knowledge generated it is a descriptive research. The main conclusion reached by this research is to warn of the benefits of artificial intelligence tools in optimizing academic and research tasks, but also to warn of the unfortunate ethical implications that the use of said tools can entail when they are not used. responsibly, especially in the field of academic research. Well, there are many artificial intelligence tools that can help the researcher in carrying out tasks such as collecting, systematizing and analyzing data and information, reviewing writing, citations and references, among others; but there is also the risk of loss of originality in the research.
