Content & Grammar Review

Content review: the revised article, based on the reviewers' indications, should contain the changes made in red for easy identification by the editors.

Grammar review: if my article is approved for publication, I undertake to submit it to a grammar review, by an expert in the field, and to send, along with the revised article, a letter signed by the professional who did the review, taking responsibility for the work done.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements

Gratuity: Prometeica is completely free and does not charge submission fees, nor article processing fees (APCs).

Editorial pact: considering that Prometeica is completely free and does not charge fees for publishing articles, that we offer a journal indexed in the most important international indexers such as Scopus, Web of Science, Redalyc, Latindex, Base and DRJI, all authors and co-authors accept the commitments below, as a necessary condition for publication of the article:

  • Register as an author on the platform, filling in all the requested metadata fields and in the journal's three languages (English, Portuguese and Spanish).

  • Carry out two evaluations of articles, in their area of knowledge, as a way to contribute to the maintenance of an open journal, free of charge and without charging submission or editing fees.

  • Cooperate in editorial tasks, particularly in the formatting of graphic styles and in the grammatical correctness of the text.

Anti-plagiarism and use of AI: Prometeica adopts an anti-plagiarism policy and control of the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). To this end, all articles submitted to the journal undergo a rigorous analysis by the Turnitin similarity software and AI detectors. Articles with inadequate similarity or AI use indexes will be previously refused for publication. If the article provides for the use of AI, this use must be previously communicated to the editors, at the time of submission, indicating in which parts of the text it was used and for what reasons.

Co-authorship: all articles with more than two authors must indicate, in a separate document and during submission, the part of the research and the article that corresponds to each author. Articles with multiple authorships that do not have the indication of participation will be previously rejected for publication.

Unpublished articles: the articles and reviews submitted must be unpublished, that is, texts that have not been formally published in the final structure of a scientific article in other journals in any area. Articles in final format are accepted even if they have had their preliminary versions released for debate in congresses, seminars, colloquia or lectures and/or published in a preliminary version in the Annals of these events. Submitted articles cannot be postulated simultaneously for publication in other journals. By submitting to the Prometeica platform, the author agrees to this requirement.

Article length: Full articles (from title to bibliographic references) should contain between 6,000 and 10,000 words. Abstracts should not exceed 250 words. Reviews should not exceed 2,300 words.

Languages: all articles must have title, abstract and keywords (from 3 to 5) in three languages: Portuguese, English and Spanish

Languages accepted for publication:

  • Spanish

  • Portuguese

  • English

Submission through the platform: articles must be sent to the journal only through the user's access to the OJS platform, in doc, docx or odt format:

- ATTENTION Submitted papers must be in two different files : the first file must contain the article and the abstract, without the author's data; the second file must contain the author's data: a brief curriculum, academic affiliation, ORCID, e-mail, source of funding and other information that identifies the author, but which must be included in the published article.

- The metadata of the files must be deleted before submission by the author to ensure blind evaluation, that is, the author does not see the reviewer's name and the reviewer does not see the author's name.

Once the article/review is submitted, the author will receive an email from Prometeica acknowledging receipt. From the receipt of this message, the editorial committee will have a maximum of 4 months to evaluate whether the article/review will be published in the journal. The maximum time between the submission of the article and its publication, in case of acceptance without reformulations, is 6 months.

Citations and references: the journal Prometeica adopts the APA Standards – 7th edition, of the American Psychological Association and all submitted articles must comply with this standard.

Footnote: for clarification notes, the footnote is used, but we suggest that you do not abuse the resource.

In the case of articles that include images, they must be submitted in a separate file. Images must have a resolution of 300 dpi, in the format * .jpg. The copyright of the image must already be granted, or the author must use copyright-free images.

Regarding the evaluation of the articles, they will be sent to the member of the editorial board responsible for the area of work in question. The articles will be sent to two external experts and evaluated by the double-blind review system in which the author does not see the name of the reviewer and the reviewer does not see the name of the author. In case of disagreement between them, a third evaluator may be consulted, by decision of the editorial board.

The works may have four possible results that appear in the evaluation form that will appear together with other observations of the evaluator:

  • recommended for publication without changes;

  • recommended for publication with recommendations for changes,

  • Recommended for resubmission

  • Not recommended for publication.

Regarding opinions, the publication of the article is subject to the author being willing to make the recommended modifications and sending the corrected article for further evaluation.

All approved papers will be published in one of the languages accepted by the journal. If the original is not in one of these languages and requires translation, it may lead to a delay in its publication.

The content of the published originals is the sole responsibility of their authors.

Before submission, the author must fill out the registration form with the following information: (Attention: the article may be rejected without this information!) Full name: ORCID: (url) E-mail: Academic affiliation: Mini curriculum:

Content review: the revised article, based on the reviewers' indications, should contain the changes made in red for easy identification by the editors.

Grammar review: if my article is approved for publication, I undertake to submit it to a grammar review, by an expert in the field, and to send, along with the revised article, a letter signed by the professional who made the review, taking responsibility for the work done.

Articles should be written using the Modelo_Autor_Estilos.dotx template  to follow the styles and formats described in Formato_Prometeica_2019.pdf

Debates - Dossier 1

The section accepts texts in the form of an academic essay or a set of images in the form of a visual essay. The structure of the text is similar to that of an opinion article — maximum of 10,000 words, including footnotes (if any) and a general bibliography. In the second case, visual essays should have 5 to 10 images and it is also necessary to submit a written presentation containing up to 50 word a mini-biography of the author/artist of a maximum of 30 words. It is up to the author/artist whether or not to include captions in the images. The texts and images must follow the graphic criteria described in the documents Formato_Autor_2019.pdf and Modelo_Autor_Estilos.dotx.    The content of the articles is the responsibility of the authors and their publication in the journal, as it expresses opinions in debate related to the profile and objectives of the journal, does not undergo peer review, but depends on the approval of the team of editors.
