Abstract

Cerebral palsy affects persistently, but variably, balance and posture of children, so it is essential that physical therapists perform detailed evaluations allowing better organization of the treatment program. Objective. To identify changes and postural balance of children with cerebral palsy, and verify the effects of different therapeutic approaches on the alignment and postural control. Method. A total of six children were evaluated, four underwent aquatic physical therapy and kinesiotherapy and two underwent only kinesiotherapy, through photometry by software SAPO and by balance scale-Pediatric Balance Scale (PBS) at two different times, with an interval of two months. Results. it was found that all children showed typical postural changes of children with cerebral palsy, and balance deficits, regardless of the type of intervention received. Conclusion. Children under aquatic therapy and kinesiotherapy, as well as children subjected only to kinesiotherapy had the same postural and balance deficits.
