Abstract

This article analyzes how post-humanism and trans-humanism are manifest in the work of Borges. It is postulated here that Borges’ short narrative not only manifests a post-humanist reaction against the prevailing anthropocentrism in modernity. There are also powerful glimpses of a trans-humanism under which immortality and the expansion of the cognitive and spiritual faculties of human beings are thought of in a highly original way because it excludes the need for the most amazing technological advances.
