The Path of Justice

From the interactional approach to the inter-institutional approach

Abstract

This article aims to reflect on the differentiation between fairness and justice, from the interactional and institutional approaches. It is theoretically based on two fundamental questions. At first, it tries to show the impossibility of defining justice, considering it as a simple notion and therefore not definable or achievable; and in a second moment, it tries to leave seeded the conceptual difference of justice from the moral philosophy and the interactional approach and the political philosophy and the inter-institutional approach, to achieve this, the main elements of Platonic morality, Aristotelian morality and classical utilitarianism; likewise from the political thinking of John Locke and John Rawls mainly, to finally conclude that justice must be considered as a political virtue.
