Abstract

Objective. The aim of this study was to survey about the influence of physical therapy interventions on the quality of life of patients post-stroke. Method. It was accomplished a systematic review, achieved from September to November 2012. Studies should be indexed in databases Scielo, PubMed, Science Direct and PeDro, and published entirely in Portuguese, English, and Spanish. We used the following descriptors stroke, quality of life, rehabilitation and Physical Therapy. Results. They were found 161 studies, and 153 were excluded, 08 articles were analyzed regarding physical therapy that contribute to improved quality of life from interventions ranging from classical kinesiotherapy to new therapeutic possibilities as induction therapy and restriction of movement, mirror therapy and treadmill with body weight-supported. Conclusion. We concluded that the various therapeutic approaches applied in clinical practice resonate with significant im-provements in quality of life of patients post- stroke, from the most traditional to the most contemporary is being researched.
