About the Journal
The journal Convergências: Famílias e Políticas Públicas (CFPP) aims to publish original scientific articles that explore current and relevant topics within the field of families and public policies, as well as their interdisciplinary interrelations. Its continuous publication is essential in the contemporary social context, providing a space for the dissemination of works that cover a broad range of topics. Linked to the Núcleo de Estudos, Pesquisa e Extensão sobre Famílias e Políticas Públicas (NEF) at the Federal University of São Paulo, the journal establishes itself as an important vehicle for the dissemination and promotion of academic knowledge in this field.
Current Issue
This volume of the Convergences Journal on Climate Impacts, Equity, and Social Cohesion presents a variety of relevant topics related to the effects of climate change on social justice and the cohesion of global communities, with a special focus on Latin America, Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean. Available in Portuguese, English, French, and Spanish, this edition gathers studies on mitigation and adaptation policies to climate change in these regions.
The topics addressed include ethnic, racial, and gender issues in the face of climate change, the impact of climate change on food security, the role of urban policies in mitigating climate effects, reflections on climate justice and the challenges faced by vulnerable populations, the use of sustainable technologies for climate adaptation, the intersection between public health and climate change, and community resistance strategies against environmental impacts.
The objective of this volume is to contribute to the reflection and deepening of the mentioned topics, as well as to provide foundations for practices and public policies aimed at equity and social cohesion in the face of climate impacts in the cited regions.
