Convergences: Families and Public Policies

The Journal Convergências: Families and Public Policies (CFPP) is pleased to invite researchers and professionals from different fields to submit original scientific articles for Volume 5, dedicated to the theme “Social Protection in Perspective: Families, Construction, and Resistance.”

This edition aims to foster a plural, vibrant, and critical space for dialogue on the various pillars of social protection and their impacts on family life. In a contemporary context marked by persistent inequalities, political disputes, demographic transformations, and environmental change, it is urgent to broaden the debate on how public policies — in their multiple dimensions — build pathways toward inclusion, justice, and the guarantee of rights.

We welcome contributions that analyze processes of construction, consolidation, and resistance within the policies, systems, and practices that shape social protection, including but not limited to:

• Health: experiences and challenges in care practices, comprehensiveness, equity, training, and service organization;

• Education: access, retention, quality, educational trajectories, and policies linked to social protection and the reduction of inequalities;

• Pensions and social security: reforms, political disputes, impacts on families and vulnerable groups, and comparative regional and international perspectives;

• Social assistance: advances, tensions, intersectoral practices, territorial actions, and implementation challenges;

• Climate and socio-environmental justice: the effects of environmental inequalities on families, communities, and traditional populations, as well as institutional and collective responses;

• Work, income, and care: policies and practices targeting childhood, youth, old age, diversity, and protection for groups in situations of vulnerability.

We seek contributions grounded in local, regional, national, and international contexts, addressing experiences, programs, systems, institutional practices, and family dynamics, as well as critical analyses of ongoing transformations in the State and society.

We are particularly interested in theoretical perspectives, empirical research, management experiences, professional practices, and collective actions that deepen understanding of family dynamics and social responses to vulnerabilities and contemporary challenges.

CFPP maintains a continuous submission flow and reaffirms its commitment to disseminating work that strengthens the dialogue between research, training, and intervention in the field of public policy.
