Abstract

As not everybody knows, ‘Apocalypse’ is a Greek word, whose meaning is just “revelation”. Nonetheless, the fact that John the Apostle apparently did use it as the title of his allegoric description of the “last days”, the word ‘Apocalypse’ got at last the meaning of a final catastrophe putting an end to the existing order of things as a whole. This very short paper passes briefly under review some of the current catastrophic visions about the destiny of human society, visions arising from a multidimensional crisis with no apparent way out.
