A Risk to History
Standardization, revisionism and reactionarism

This article addresses the use of History as a tool for the standardization of certain historical concepts and events, such as Nazism or Fascism, using metapolitics, a concept that stems from the so-called new right-wing. Through the analysis of some political discourses, we seek to examine the use of small truths to make historical revisionism and bring certain arguments to the public debate, legitimizing them and operating in the ideological field in order to standardize certain thoughts and, at the same time, attack opposing ideas and ideologies. The use of History as a controversy field is not new, but it is up to historians to play their role of safeguarding this field of knowledge against the continued attacks under which it has been in Brazil and in other countries of the world.
