The Relations between Paranismo and Paranaense Museum

Abstract

In this article we look to understand the relation between the Paranaense Museum and Paranista Moviment that was constructed in Romario's Martins direction of the institution (1902 - 1928). These two movements happened at the same time. In paranaense historiography Martins were knowed as “Father of Paranismo” since he has created the paranaense center and made lots of actions to improve this movement. In that way, our main question is about possible relations between the museum and the Paranista movement. At the same time, we look for actions made by the museum that have helped in the construction of this movement and the divulgation of it. Searching the answer for these questions the main source was the paper A Republica where we find out as result that the museum has had an important role in exalt the Paraná state as well the Paranista notion, since the institution was a place for sociability in the paranaense capital, having the same impressions as the Paranista intent with temporalities past, present and future getting compliments for the museum and, in the same way, for the state.
