About the Journal

ALMANACK is an academic-scientific journal aimed at an audience of specialists in the humanities, particularly History. It is dedicated to publishing original articles linked to the multiple issues in the history of the formation of national states between the 18th and 19th centuries, and it is particularly interested in the Brazilian and Latin American processes.

GRADUATE RESEARCH NOTEBOOKS

The journal Almanack, dedicated to publishing texts linked to the history of the formation of Latin American nation-states between the 18th and 19th centuries, is launching a new editorial section aimed at strengthening ties with graduate studies. Master's and doctoral students will now have a specific section dedicated to disseminating their ongoing research. The section will comprise a maximum of nine texts per year, with up to six thousand words each. Texts will be submitted to double-blind peer review, and their content may vary between the presentation of partial results and historiographical reviews. In dialogue with student representation bodies – such as the SEO Graduate Students section – Almanack will define annual themes for this section, where the composition of authors must respect the regional, racial, and gender diversity goals stipulated by the journal's guidelines. In partnership with the Digital Networks team, this section will invite authors to produce videos on research tools and methods, as well as to establish a dialogue with undergraduates through "Almanack Responds".

The 2026 theme is: Parliaments, Assemblies, and Elections across the Americas: Disputes surrounding Representation

Submissions will be accepted until June 5th.
