Environmental Education in tree planting on the premises oh the Save-Mozambique university

Abstract

This study aimed to awaken the students of the first year of the Degree in Psychology at Save University, the need to plant fruit plants on the premises of Save University, developing a series of activities, through practical classes. The study was carried out from descriptive, exploratory research of a qualitative and quantitative nature, using the semi-direct interview. The activities were developed in the empty spaces of the Save University, making students aware of the need to seek citizenship actions while preserving the environment in which they live beyond the University space. In the course of planting, he awakened in the students the taste, responsibility and care for the environment. In this way, it is clear that there is an urgent need for the inclusion of contents that address the planting of trees in curricular programs that subsidize the pedagogical practice, transforming the behavior of the educated with nature, which is worked on in a continuous and permanent way. Thus, it was possible to know their preferences for fruits and the perception of the school environment. The following were planted: a Ralanje tree (Citrus sinensis), a lemon tree (Citrus limon), two avocado plants (Persea americana from Lauraceae), a guava tree (Psidium guajava) and a mango tree (Mangifera).
