Planned obsolescence and environmental awareness: case study with environmental engineering undergraduates

Abstract

The Planned Obsolescence between the objects of consumption, especially smartphones, imposes a new challenge: the correct discard. In this context, the main objective of this work was realize a study of the perception about planned obsolescence of students of Environmental Engineering course about the consumption and the planned obsolescence of their smartphones and cellphone’s. Between the results, stand out the 75,26% of the interviewed that consider a complex task properly dispose their smartphones, and little more than 32,25% stated not knowing the meaning of planned obsolescence.
