Abstract

In view of the serious environmental crisis the planet currently goes through, Environmental Education (EE), in its critical-dialogical approach, can provide the instruments for the revision of relationship between man and nature. In this way, the goal of this paper was to evaluate how interpretive trails and sensory gardens can motivate the dialogical and critical aspects of EE in the school environment. It’s qualitative research, in which several academic papers were investigated through research in the SciELO, Google Scholar and CAPES Periodicals search bases, using the terms “interpretive trails”, “sensory gardens” and related words for the searches. It was observed that gardens and trails have great potential to promote dialogical and critical practices in EE, leading human beings to recognize themselves as one of the components of the environment and endowed him with the tools and knowledge necessary to face the currently environmental crisis that humanity goes through.
