It is with great pleasure that we present the Journal of Science & Sustainable Engineering (JSSE), ISSN 2965-4505, an open-access journal sponsored by the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), Brazil. Part of the UNIFESP Journal Portal.
The Journal of Science & Sustainable Engineering (JSSE) aims to disseminate scientific and technological knowledge in engineering applied to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
It is a peer-reviewed journal covering various fields of engineering and sustainability, as well as their practical applications. It publishes original articles (maximum of 10 pages), short communications (3 to 6 pages), and review articles (on a relevant and current topic) in the following areas, among others: Renewable energy, clean production, green fuels, materials (applied to energy and the environment), environmental pollution (impact and remediation), bioprocesses, circular economy, sustainability, engineering applied to sustainability, and articles based on university extension activities (in areas directly related to any of the topics within the scope of this journal).
The Journal of Science & Sustainable Engineering (JSSE) adheres to best practices in scientific publishing; each article undergoes peer review (single-blind review) and is assigned a DOI. JSSE is indexed in Google Scholar, Crossref, Miguilin, Diadorim, and others. The journal is fee-free, meaning that no Article Processing Charges (APCs) are charged to authors.
After the review and acceptance process, the article will be immediately available online in open access. This will make your research work permanently, immediately, and freely accessible.

We are inviting the authors of the final projects —Final Projects in Environmental Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, the Interdisciplinary Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Science and Technology, and Oceanography, defended in 2025 and 2026—to submit their manuscripts for a Special Issue of the Journal to be published in October 2026.
Full articles or short communications must follow the template available at https://periodicos.unifesp.br/index.php/jsse.
Manuscripts must be submitted by July 2, 2026, using the link https://periodicos.unifesp.br/index.php/jsse/about/submissions.
To submit your manuscript, create an account in the submission area. Select the option “Original Articles” or “Short Communications.” Under Categories, select “Special issues from scientific meetings.” Finally, in the comments field for the editor, write “ESPECIAL TCC UNIFESP IMAR.”
We have attached the JSSE template. The journal publishes only articles in English.
