Dentre as condições medicas reconhecidas como de maior risco para o condutor de velculos encontram-se as epilepsias. Entretanto, algumas vezes, as restrições a dirigir velculos automotivos cerceiam os direitos de sociabilização do indivíduo epiléptico que tenha suas crises controladas. Como os critérios de autorização para dirigir veículos motorizados a pacientes epilépticos não se mostram precisos para uma decisão correta, apresentamos aspectos que tam sido considerados, no Brasil e em outros paises, com o objetivo de estabelecer algumas conclusões e propostas mais objetivas e justas, que auxiliem a orientação de pacientes epilépticos nesse sentido.
