Espasmo Hemifacial

O espasmo hemifacial é uma mioclonia segmentar da face, que acomete os músculos inervados pelo nervo facial ipsilateral, de modo unilateral. Costuma ocorrer em adultos e é mais freqüente em mulheres. Pode estar associado a uma compressão vascular do nervo facial em sua emergência, no tronco cerebral. O tratamento de primeira escolha fazse com injeções de toxina botulínica A, com bons resultados.
