Abstract

The extrapyramidal system is formed by the thalamus, cerebellum and basal ganglia. Such structures, through their connections, are involved in many process, including the modulation of motor control. The dysfunction of extrapyramidal system structures is associated with movement disorders. This paper show some actualizations related to the main extrapyramidal circuit and their implications in movement disorders.
