Introduction. The older the individual grows the more he complains about his sleep. Empirical evidences exist, however, that shows that a physical activity program can bring benefits to aged women such as preventing diseases, decreasing falls, and improving both mood and sleeping. Objective. To assess the Total Sleep Time (TST) and the sleep quality in sedentary aged who have participated in a group physical activity program. Method. Twelve female volunteers aging at least 60 were invited to participate in this research work. Six remained. They were supposed to fill in The Sleep Diary and the sleep quality Analogical Visual Scale (AVS) for 30 days straight. After that the participants were joined in a twice-a-week four-month group physical activity. Results. The TST means was 7 hours and 48 minutes before, and 9 hours after the program (p=0.01). AVS scores means was 7.1 before and 8.6 after the program (p=0.01). Conclusion. Group physical activity was found to improve sedentary aged female’s Total Sleep Time as well as sleep quality.
