Abstract

The sensitive-motor hereditary polineuropathy can be comprehended as an alteration in the peripheral nerves, which results in a deficit in the sensorial and motor function. The objective of this study is to evaluate the deficits of the motor function in three individuals who belong to the same family, with ages between 8
and 22 years, targeting the establishment of a comparison between the evolution of the pathology and the age of the individual. The scale, which was used to evaluate the motor function, is called Motor Function Measure (MFM) and it is specific for neuromuscular disorders and polineuropathy. The results of this
research had demonstrated that the oldest individuals showed the functional greater deficits in the Dimensions Position Stand and Transference and Motor Function Distal, while the newest individual had presented greater deficit in the Dimension Position Stand and Transference. Therefore, the conclusion is that
as older as the individuals are, more difficulties they have got to accomplish and execute the motor functions, especially those that require functions of distal segments of upper limbs, and axial proximal lower limbs, such as writing and gait.
