Abstract

The function assessment tools that arrange standard measures, allow the professionals identify the objectives, the therapeutic interventions, and measure the efficiency of the rehabilitation process, as well as facilitate and create clinical trials. The present review’s study was to identify and analyze the motor function
assessment tools available in the literature designated to individuals that acquired brain injury. Four assessment tools that filled the inclusion criterion of this study were found, being Fugl Meyer Assessment, Rivermead Stroke Assessment, Motor Assessment Scale and Chedoke McMaster Stroke Assessment. The choice of the appropriate assessment tool will depend on the type of service that will be done, considering some variations like time, costs and specific equipments, as well as the training costs for these tools.
