The influence of Kinesio Taping in the treatment of shoulder’s subluxation at Stroke

Objective. To verify the influence of Kinesio Taping technique in the treatment of subluxation shoulder in patients with stroke and consequent improvements in postural symmetry and reduction of compensation. Method. Three patients with under shoulder subluxation were participating of the study. They were submitting an initial evaluation through Biophotogrammetry for measure the subluxation, postural symmetry and the movements of the shoulder. These subjects received application of the Kinesio taping in the deltoid muscle. After two months of treatment there was a new evaluation. Results. There was a decrease in the subluxation shoulder in average of 0.93 cm. Improvement of postural symmetry by the decline in the tales angle in average 35.47º. The movement of bending shoulder increased in average 19.83º. The movement of extension increased 5.22º on subject (A). The abduction movement of the shoulder increased in average 11.94º on subjects (A) and (B).The horizontal adduction movement of the shoulder increased 12.86º on subject (C). Conclusion. The results suggest that Kinesio Taping can proportionate decrease of subluxation and improve of postural symmetry and superior member function.
