Introdução. A Síndrome das Pernas Inquietas ou Doença de Willis-Ekbom (SPI/WED) é uma condição neurológica crônica caracterizada por uma sensação anormal comumente apresentada em membros inferiores, com uma necessidade incontrolável de movimentar as pernas, com piora noturna e durante o repouso, que pode ser parcialmente ou totalmente aliviada pela movimentação. Além de causar impacto sobre o sono, com prejuízos nas atividades diurnas e qualidade de vida, diferentes estudos apontaram prejuízos no funcionamento cognitivo de pacientes com SPI/WED. Objetivo. Realizar uma revisão bibliográfica sobre alterações cognitivas em adultos com SPI/WED. Método. Busca informatizada de artigos indexados na Pubmed entre os anos de 2006 e 2013. Resultados. Foram identificados quarenta artigos, sendo seis selecionados por utilizarem testes neuropsicológicos para avaliação cognitiva de pacientes com SPI/WED. Conclusão. A maioria das pesquisas indicaram a presença de disfunções executivas e atencionais em indivíduos com SPI/WED, contudo, são necessários mais estudos para avaliar a presença de alterações cognitivas nessa população.
