Os efeitos do azeite de oliva da dieta mediterrânea em indivíduos com doenças cardiovasculares: revisão sistemática

Resumo

Introdução. O azeite de oliva desempenha um papel fundamental na prevenção e controle das doenças cardiovasculares, sendo um componente essencial da dieta mediterrânea que é caracterizada pelo alto consumo de frutas, vegetais, grãos integrais, peixes, nozes. Essa associação é estudada por seus efeitos benéficos à saúde, especialmente no controle de doenças cardiovasculares. Objetivo. Analisar os efeitos do azeite de oliva, um dos principais componentes da dieta mediterrânea, em indivíduos com doenças cardiovasculares. Método. Foi realizada uma revisão sistemática com bases de dados utilizadas foram o PubMed, Scopus e Web of Science que buscaram ensaios clínicos randomizados até agosto de 2023. Foi utilizada a ferramenta RoB 2.0 para análise de risco de viés. Resultados.  O total de artigos encontrados foi de doze estudos. As doenças cardiovasculares que tiveram benefício com o consumo de azeite de oliva foram na Hipertensão Arterial Sistêmica, na Aterosclerose, na Síndrome Coronariana Aguda, como Angina Instável e Infarto Agudo do Miocárdio, na Doença Coronária Estável, na Síndrome Coronariana Crônica. Conclusão. O azeite de oliva quando inserido na dieta mediterrânea tem impacto positivo nas doenças cardiovasculares, indicando que o consumo regular de azeite de oliva contribui para a redução dos níveis de colesterol LDL e o aumento do colesterol HDL, além de melhorar a função endotelial e reduzir a inflamação e a pressão arterial. Esses efeitos, somados à presença de outros alimentos saudáveis na dieta mediterrânea, fazem desta abordagem alimentar uma das mais eficazes para a prevenção e o tratamento de doenças cardiovasculares.
