Escalas de avaliação cognitiva utilizadas por terapeutas ocupacionais: uma revisão da literatura

Introdução. A demência é definida como alterações que acarretam prejuízos que acometem o desempenho ocupacional do idoso. É importante que haja uma boa avaliação para um diagnóstico precoce, possibilitando a redução de danos futuros na qualidade de vida do idoso. Objetivo. Identificar os instrumentos de avaliação cognitiva que foram mais utilizados pelos terapeutas ocupacionais com idosos demenciados no ano de 2010 a 2020. Método. Realizou-se uma revisão integrativa com um recorte temporal de 11 anos onde foram selecionados artigos escritos por terapeutas ocupacionais. Resultados. A amostra foi composta por 27 artigos contendo uma variedade de instrumentos de avaliação cognitiva, sendo mais utilizado o Mini Exame do Estado Mental, seguido do Clinical Dementia Rating e Montreal Cognitive Assessment. Conclusão. Observou-se a utilização de diversos instrumentos de avaliação cognitiva de idosos, entretanto, poucos eram específicos da Terapia Ocupacional.
