Hepatitis, Neurologic ManifestationsAbstract
Infections due to viral hepatites are becoming more prevalent, mainly by hepatites virus A, B and C. Neurologic Manifestations of viral hepatites can be divided in acute and chronic, the former are related to acute encephalitis and meningitis and, rarely, transverse myelitis and Guillain-Barré syndrome. Hepatites B and C virus chronic infections have been related to autoimmune polyneuropathies, cryoglobulinemia and diverse central nervous system symptoms. Specific antiviral therapy can revert these manifestations. In this article we review the main neurologic manifestations of viral hepatites with a clinical focus and therapeutic suggestion.
