Political Thought in Classical Islam. Human society as an object of study in Ibn Khaldun's Muqaddimah

Abstract
In the 14th century, when Islamic society was experiencing, for different reasons, an introspective stage, Ibn Khaldun wrote a deeply innovative work. In this article we demonstrate how the author unveils a Islamic based worldview rendering of human society, presenting the social transformation dynamics as consequence of struggle for power.
