Nasredin Khodja Origins, paths and facets of a popular hero

Abstract
Humor, wisdom, cunning and nonsense are salient features of Nasreddin Khodja, a character present in the folklore of Turkey and more than 40 countries in the sphere of Turkish-Islamic influence, from the Balkans to China. A character still little known in Brazil, the present article aims to present the discussions about its origins and particularities, as well as its diffusion and the dissemination of its anecdotes in the East and the West, including the digital sphere.
